Legal Drug & Drop aHolic Drop 4
Mar. 3rd, 2012 12:01 pmI haven't done one of these in a while. Partly because I've been busy, but mostly just because most of the people I chat with about LD are on LJ and not DW (come guys, LJ sucks, get your asses over here - we have cookies). BUT THEN. I remembered the cross-post feature. And lo, Amanda did grin. And her eyes did feast upon the blood and the groping and the blatant Clampservice-
And so flailing did commence. :3
First off - big thanks to ohdearyme/unknownusername for the scanslation - THAT WAS FAST <333

So, it appears that the little chibi-Yuuko thing that Kazahaya has been channeling is, in fact, a vampire. Mmmm vampires. I fucking hate vampires, mostly. Yet for some reason, when there is the tantalizing hint of self-sacrifice wafting around them, I tend to soften this view. Or maybe I just like Clamp vampires (Clampires?THEY SUCK YOUR ANGST OUT THROUGH YOUR TOES.) Either way, while Kazahaya was busy being all adorably blood-lusty nommy, this happened:
THAT'S RIGHT RIKUOU. YOU GET DOWN WITH YOUR BAD SELF. SLICE THAT NECK OPEN WITH YOUR POWERS OFEVIL BREAKAGE.
*ahem* Someone really needs to teach Clamp (and authors of vampiric fiction generally) about anatomy - you know, how that third-largest artery in your body (and the one that supplies ~80% of the brain) is RIGHT FUCKING THERE and so slicing your neck open is kind of a STUPID thing to do. Oh well. In my little head cannon, Rikuou's slicy-power isn't strong enough to actually tear through the carotid sheath and he only manages to open up the external jugular vein (which is still stupid, but will probably kill him slower >.>). VAMPIRES, MAN. INDUCING POOR ANATOMICAL NARRATIVE CHOICES SINCE 1897.
Not that I am in any way opposing this turn of events. In fact, I think it's pretty much crystalized for me that I have a none-too-subtlelady-boner thing for self-sacrifice and possibly unhealthy levels of neediness in friendships/relationships. WHOOPS.
ANYWAY. It finally dawns on Rikuou that Kazahaya isn't actually a vampire (LOL GJGJ dear, remember how that was all a big part of the "don't touch things you don't want possessing youthis category does not automatically include my penis JSY" speech you gave??), but is, in fact, channeling the little chibi-Yuuko thing. SO. Nommage happens. And little chibi-Yuuko is so pleased with Rikuou's angst flavor that she deigns to drop this bit of wisdom:
Oh. Oh my. Is this going to be the biggest, angstiest angstbomb to ever drop on Angsttown?? I SURE HOPE SO. My life has been horribly empty without new Clamp angst. Oh sure, there's been No.6 to ease some of the pain, BUT IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME. I mean. Let's discuss the possibilities of just how fucked up this has the potential to become.
I've always kind of entertained the idea that maybe Rikuou hurt Tsukiko accidentally and repressed the memory after she ran away. This is largely because of his tattoo, which looks a lot like Fay's - maybe it's holding back the true force of his destruction power? I dunno. Speculation at its finest. But then I remember this:

Which - well. Is that Kei's? Is it Kazahaya's, from his pretty-pretty-princess serial killer days?? Maybe it's his evil grandmother's (I don't know why, but I like the idea of an evil grandmother in this manga. I'm going to keep silently rooting for it.). Either way, he recognizes it. WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING AWAY FROM KAZAHAYA? Are you heir to a massive ring of psychic serial killers, second only to the Sakurazukamori in their blood-letting proficiency?? Moreover - HOW LONG CAN CLAMP DRAW OUT THE REVEAL? (I'm voting for quite a bit longer, actually, if it means more adorbs interactions between the boys. >.> But, uh, I am notoriously sleazy and a bit of a masochist, so...)
*SOBS*
Why is next month so far away....?

LOLOLOL YOU AND YOUR WITTY JOKES
I think Rikuo only saw the blood splattered room and has no idea how it got that bloody.
Someone came after Tsukiko and kidnapped her?
WAS IT KAZAHAYA'S SISTER?

Date: 2012-03-04 06:22 pm (UTC)Anyway, I just left you a semi-serious response on Tumblr, but I'mma copypasta it here, since this is much easier for discussion >.>
"Ahaha - I find it kind of funny that I’m the only one who doesn’t think Tsukiko is his sister XD I just don’t think they act very sibling-ly. She comments on his paper reading, which is something Kazahaya also does when they first start living together, and also asks him if he likes a certain seasoning (?? seaweed something…can’t remember) on his rice - which they would probably have eaten together many many times if they grew up together. They don’t really seem to know each other all that well for siblings (especially the way Clamp tends to portray them) is what I’m saying, I guess. I’m not opposed to the idea, don’t get me wrong, but I just read it a completely different way XD But, maybe she’s much older and moved out long before he was a teenager and they’re only recently reunited or something. Or maybe she’s an older relative that took him in after whatever happened with his (very conveniently missing) family went down.
God, please. No more vampires. I’m going to be making “AW CHRIST, DON’T BITE THERE” comments for the rest of eternity if that’s the case. O_o
And yes, as far as I can tell, Kazahaya only sees memories. So Rikuou would have had to have seen that comb at some point (whether he focused on it enough to even think about it is an entirely different matter…I wonder if that’s what he means when he asks Kazahaya about looking into his memories to see if he’s missed anything? MAYBE IT COULD WORK. :D).
I honestly have no idea what’s going on with Kazahaya. I kind of threw out the serial-killer family thing because I was snickering to myself about it yesterday and thought “HEY MAYBE SOMEONE WILL SMACK ME DOWN AND I WILL BE SMARTER FOR IT.” And I am. XD Something sucks about his family, but it’s hard to judge whether it’s because they’re actually evil or they’ve been threatened, etc. All I know is that Kei is more than a little creepy. And my mind goes dark places with that bit of information. SO. XD
I’m beginning to think I really don’t have the patience necessary for following a serial XD BUT IT’S SO MUCH FUN OMG WHAT DO I DO??"

Date: 2012-03-04 06:38 pm (UTC)Missing girfriend would be cooler, because it's NEW.
Kakei says he can't read into Tsukiko's future, because she is more powerful (or associated with someone more powerful) than him. So,
a)someone more powerful than Kakei kidnapped her
b)she left with someone more powerful out of her own will, possibly to protect Rikuo.
The wisteria pin, was it Tsukiko's or the kidnapper's?
I want to say KEI AND TSUKIKO ELOPED TO BE BLOOD-THIRSTY EVIL LESBIANS, but
Rikuo's backstory took place before Kazaya ran away from home.
The "training" Kei was undergoing is suspicious, doubly so because Kazahaya wasn't. I wonder what kind of power Kei has.
And then there's that graffity.
SO MANY CLUES AND SO LITTLE MAKES SENSE.
I hve only cursory knowledge of anatomy, so as long as I don't think too hard about it, vampires are fun.
Subaru and Kamui land in a world where they sparkle and Seishirou finds it very cute. That sort of fun /shotno subject
Date: 2012-03-04 09:13 pm (UTC)It definitely would, and it would lend another layer of ~drama~ to the whole thing. (It also kind of works with Clamp's whole "LOLSEXUALITY" approach to relationships - which I'm never actually sure if I love or hate, but that's neither here nor there XD)
I wonder if Kakei could even tell if she's alive or dead... Maybe he can't tell anything about her. Bah. I like the theory that she's associated with some Big Bad and is psychic herself though. I'm also kind of partial to the theory where she faked her own attack/death and disappeared (although WHOOPS THAT SURE WORKED >.>).
I have no idea - I guessed it was the kidnapper's because of the way Kazahaya seemed to zero in on it like he recognized it. In a room spattered with blood, he seized on the pin... I mean, I know he likes flowers and all but... XD (Sidenote: I just looked up wisteria symbolism [cuz I am a nerd like that] and while there are as many interpretations as there are cultures, most of them seem to tend along the lines of clinging/persevering/unrequited love...take that for what you will.)
I TOTALLY SUPPORT THIS. (Actually, I think I read fic of this once...minus the evil part. I think it was by Valenstyne, but IDEK anymore) It could...still happen >.> They would just have to meet up around the same time as the boys... /waves arms and makes magics happen
Was Kazahaya not getting training as well? I thought he just liked to skip out on it. I am not going to be surprised if her power turns out to be fire-related, just for the number of times they've brought up the meaning of her name... Telekinetic Pyromania FTW
Fucking graffiti :( We're going to be banging our heads over this until they finally tell us what is was, aren't we???
SOMEONE NEEDS TO WRITE THIS SPARKLINESS. Mikke wrote something similar with Fay, but for some reason I REALLY need to have sparkling Kamui now......

Date: 2012-03-05 12:38 am (UTC)Kakei being unable to tell anything at all makes sense, because if he could know for sure she were alive, he would tell Rikuo about it, wouldn't he?
Insteresting symbolism there... May mean that Rikuo loves her, but she is evil. Or that Kazahaya's sister is evil. SOMEONE IS EVIL, I insist XD
I have only read one fic for this manga and it was a clampkink fill, so I wouldn't know - would you rec me any?
Kamui would love his new *vampire sparkles*
